    About Dr. Stephen R. Schwalbe

    Steve Schwalbe retired from active duty in the Air Force as a Colonel in 2007. In the military, he specialized in intelligence operations in the Soviet Union, Korean Peninsula, and the Middle East. He conducted an INF treaty inspection in the Soviet Union. Stephen was the Assistant Defense Intelligence Officer for the Middle East and Terrorism. He served as the Air Attache in both South Korea and Jordan. He completed his career as a full professor at the Air War College. He authored a book on base closures that was published in 2009.
